Here at A/C Medic, we always recommend having a regular furnace maintenance visit in the fall, but if you haven’t managed to have your furnace checked out for a while, there’s still time before the truly cold temperatures of winter set in. Getting furnace maintenance now will reduce the likelihood of any inconvenient breakdowns or necessary repairs during the winter, keeping your family warm during the cold nights ahead.
During a furnace maintenance visit, you can expect the following:
- Cleaning: We will thoroughly clean all the elements of your furnace, including any outside units, any indoor sections, any drain lines and the burner (if it is a gas furnace). This also allows us to do a better job inspecting your system by removing dirt and grime.
- Inspection: We will visually inspect and test various components like the airflow, the thermostat and the air filter (changing it if needed). You probably don’t regularly look at your furnace, especially in the months you don’t use it. We will take care of this for you and report our findings to you.
- Lubrication: There are a lot of moving parts in a furnace, and keeping them well-lubricated reduces friction, overheating and unnecessary wear and tear.
- Other adjustments and minor repairs as needed
